Are you one of the many putting your bad eating habits behind you and adopting a healthier diet for 2020? Whether you simply want to eat less meat, plan to take a flexitarian approach or go full vegan this year you’ll need to seek out restaurants that can satisfy your new requirements as well as your taste buds.
Here are a few health-conscious, vegan-friendly restaurants around London that will keep you and your gut happy this Veganuary.
Farm Girl
Farm Girl’s owners set out with the mission of bringing wholesome and delicious Australian-style brunch to West London. The original Farm Girl in Notting Hill proved so popular that they’ve opened a further three cafes in Knightsbridge, Chelsea and Soho. The all-day brunch menu includes classics such as avocado on toast, salad bowls and buckwheat pancakes as well as an outstanding vegan version of a BLT sandwich made with coconut ‘bacon’.
The food looks and tastes delicious, the decor is stunning, and the vibe is cool yet friendly, making this a meal you’ll want to share on Instagram.

Redemption
If you want to go out and feel like you’re spoiling yourself while sticking to an alcohol-free, sugar-free, plant-based diet, then Redemption could be just what you’re looking for this January. Everything in their bar is non-alcoholic but tastes smells and looks like the real deal. The food is equally pleasing and 100% free from sugar, gluten and animal products.
The slow-cooked bbq jackfruit with kimchi slaw is divine, and with a side order of rosemary roasted potatoes and an apple mock-jito, you’ll be 100% satisfied with your guilt-free dinner.

Market Hall Victoria
A short walk from our new Victoria Reception Space is Market Hall Victoria, where you’ll find eleven restaurants, a coffee shop and three bars all under one roof with a spacious terrace for those warmer days. Amongst the traders, you’ll find CookDaily, who specialise in plant-based Asian fusion food that’s as colourful as it is delicious.
Their Vegan Pho and House Pad Thai have inspired an almost cult-like following with London vegans.
Ethos
Located off Oxford Street a few minutes walk from Oxford Circus Overground station, Ethos offers great food and an interesting self-service style concept where you pay for what you choose based on weight. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; the restaurant specialises in seasonal plant-based food plus vegan wines, beers, cocktails and mocktails.
Ethos is an excellent choice for those who never know quite what to choose on the menu as you can sample a little bit of everything that takes your fancy.
Genesis
This vegan restaurant in the trendy Shoreditch area of London serves upmarket fast food, shakes and cocktails. There’s no need to forsake your favourite comfort foods as plant-based burgers, hot dogs, tacos and ice cream sundaes appear in abundance. The beers, wines and organic cocktails, including a dragon fruit mojito, round off a menu that falls on the naughty side of nutritious.
The fresh pastel decor and fast service make this a great place for a pitstop after shopping at Old Spitalfields Market.
Mildreds
The Soho branch of Mildreds has been dishing up imaginatively tasty vegetarian food for over 30 years. The menu takes you on a journey through Europe, Africa and Asia with arancini balls, gyoza, kebabs and Sri Lankan curries. Make sure to save room for one of their delicious desserts such as caramel cheesecake or gingerbread sticky toffee pudding.
The organic wines and boozy cocktails remind you that you’re dining in Soho, an area that’s history is synonymous with drinking and partying.
Wild Food Cafe
The team at the Wild Food Cafe in Islington describe it as an oasis of wellbeing with plant-based foods that are known to nourish bodies and minds taking centre stage. The pizzas are not to be missed, especially the Italian meatball one which uses walnuts and oyster mushrooms to replicate the meatballs.
There’s a kids menu that includes pasta and a sweet Nutella pizza that’s perfect for giving little ones a lesson in healthy eating.
