Spring is the perfect time to refresh your home and your Airbnb profile to kickstart bookings for the coming seasons. From small refurbishments to full-scale deep cleans, give your home a refresh. Here are a couple of our top tips to prepare your London home for guests.
Build up 5-star reviews
The most important thing to have on your Airbnb profile before you enter the busy holiday season is excellent reviews. You should aim to build up positive reviews throughout the year. Having 5-star reviews will bring your profile to the top of the search engine, meaning more viewers and hopefully more bookings as a result.
If you have these reviews before you start short letting in the Spring-Summer season, it will give your Airbnb listing that added credibility and give people the confidence they need to book a stay with you.
Keep your profile up-to-date
From time-to-time, you will need to update your Airbnb listing description and photographs to make sure they are up-to-date and reflect the property as your guests will find it. This should be done after updates such as a fresh lick of paint, reorganising a room, new kitchen appliances etc.
Update and improve your listing continuously, using feedback from guests about what they liked most about your home. This could be adding information which you may not have initially thought worth mentioning such as the view from your kitchen window. Or a photo showing the new dishwasher you recently purchased and installed.
If your property is not receiving as many profile views as you would like, think about refreshing the headline. This is the first thing people see when searching for a property so the more eye-catching it is, the better.
Show your home some love
Photos of a well-styled welcoming home will help you to attract more potential guests. Pay attention to the small details and take into account the feedback from guests – paying or otherwise – about what the best features are in your home. It’s always good to get a second opinion.
Think about how you can make your home more inviting to visitors. Hang pictures, introduce plants – real or artificial – add lamps and feature lighting. And books, magazines, records, board games and Netflix will be a welcome distraction for visitors during those inevitable Spring showers.
